Join us for this special in-conversation event with Ellen van Neerven and Troy-Anthony Baylis, as we celebrate Pride Month at QUT this September.

Troy-Anthony Baylis, a self-described Queer Aboriginal artist of Jawoyn (Northern Territory) and Irish descent, and Ellen van Neerven, an award-winning writer of Mununjali Yugambeh (Southeast Queensland) and Dutch heritage, will come together to discuss their art, culture and identity at this exclusive, one-time event.

Ellen van Neerven is an award-winning writer of Mununjali Yugambeh (South East Queensland) and Dutch heritage. They write fiction, poetry, plays and non-fiction, which have collected an extensive number of literary awards in recent years. Ellen’s first book, Heat and Light, was the recipient of the David Unaipon Award, the Dobbie Literary Award and the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards Indigenous Writers Prize.

Ellen's latest book, Personal Score: Sport, culture, identity, is a personal examination of sport’s troubled relationship with race, gender and sexuality.

This event is organised by the QUT Faculty of Health, QUT Galleries & Museums and QUT Library.
